Oleksandr Melnikov
Oleksandr Melnikov was born in 1959 near Moscow, Russia. He graduated from the Odessa Art School and the National Academy of Arts in Kyiv. He has participated in exhibitions in Geneva, Marseille, Yokohama, Frankfurt, and Vancouver, as well as notable shows including "20 Years After" (New Jersey, 2000) and "Unknown Russia IV" (New York, 2001), alongside numerous solo exhibitions in Odessa, Kyiv, and Vancouver.
Melnikov is a member of the National Union of Ukrainian Artists, and his name is included in the Bénézit Dictionary of Artists (1991).
A painter of bold, endearing figurative works, Melnikov defies conventional portraiture with a style of striking originality.
